Estela M. Reyes Rodríguez
Estela M. Reyes Rodríguez is an energetic, collaborative and spontaneous community social worker, committed to working on making significant changes in the lives of young people and closing the gaps of inequality in our country. This Human Rights and Social Justice advocate currently directs the pilot project of Advocacy and Community Mobilization with youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Luis Lloréns Torres Public Housing Project.
Previously, she worked as a Caño Martín Peña ENLACE Project coordinator with Young Leaders in Action (Líderes Jóvenes en Acción, LIJAC).
She completed her graduate studies at the Beatriz Lasalle Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. While there, she formed part of the work team at the Colectivo Universitario para el Acceso (CUA), where she worked as a tutor and research coordinator in programs aimed at facilitating access to the university to teenagers under the poverty level.
She loves her cultural heritage, especially local music, such as bomba. Le encanta la música, los ritmos caribeños y es muy creativa. She enjoys music and Caribbean rhythms, and is very creative. Her passion for art allows her to view and channel the data she manages in a way that’s accessible to all audiences.
